A WONDERFUL COMPANION WITH MANY YEARS LEFT TO LOVE

Here is a story that might bring tears to your eyes. Maseo was owned by a man who died a couple of years ago. Since then he was cared for by family friends, but they could no longer take care of him, so he was given to rescue.
Strangely enough, someone who grew up with Maseo saw his picture on our site quite by accident. This young woman was visiting her father here in the area and was looking for a dog for her dad, when she found Maseo. The young woman's mother was a close friend of Maseo's previous owner and when she found out that Maseo was up for adoption, she was so elated! Both her and her daughter were so happy to have found him again - it makes you wonder who was watching over him up there.
Maseo flew back to Florida with the daughter and was reunited with his owner's dear friend. I know he remembers them because he was so excited when the daughter came to pick him up. What a happy ending for a beautiful family and their dog.
Even though Maseo is a senior, you'd never know it. He's in wonderful health, and has been well taken care of. Hes' had regular dental cleanings so his teeth are in great shape, plus he runs and plays like a younger dog. Maseo means "true man" in Japanese and he is that - he would be ever loyal to his new family.
Maseo has a sad history. His owner of 9 years commited suicide. How horrible for this loving little dog, who has no idea what happened, only that his beloved companion is no longer there and he no longer has the familiar home that he grew up in to go to.
In spite of it all, he's still happy and willing to love. He just needs that constant companionship that he's used to, to feel secure again. Hopefully, someone will find it within their heart to give this boy what he deserves. And please be aware, that just because he's 9 doesn't mean that he doesn't have alot of years left to give someone that special love.
MASEO WOULD NOT DO WELL WITH YOUNG KIDS. TEENAGERS OK.
Please read about our adoption policies and procedures before calling or emailing with questions. Many of your questions can be answered by reading our information. Keep in mind that the first step toward adoption is to fill out an application. Also, WE DO NOT SHIP!
All animals are bathed and groomed before adoption, vaccinated with proof of vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and also are sent home with a leash, collar or halter, toy and food to get you started.
